TIMETABLE
Sunday, 26th May | Notice to be issued at 11.00am in pursuant of Clause 23 (11) and in accordance with the provisions of Clause 23 (13) of the Gurdwara Constitution dated 30th March 1999 (amended), with regard to holding elections on Sunday 7th July 2024, for the purpose of electing New Trustees (Executive Committee) |
Friday, 31st May | Start date for the acceptance of Nomination Forms (11.00am) |
Sunday, 16th June | Closing date for the acceptance of Nomination Forms (1.00pm). |
Monday, 17th June | In pursuant to Clause 10 (3), Gurdwara Executive Committee (Trustees) to appoint a Scrutiny Committee of five members. |
Tuesday, 18th June | In pursuant of Clause 10 (5)(a), to transmit names of all candidates to the Scrutiny Committee. |
Friday, 21st June | In pursuant of Clause 10 (5)(b), to inform those wishing to be candidates, regarding the Scrutiny Committee’s decision about their eligibility for candidature. |
Sunday, 24th June | At 12.00pm to make announcement to the congregation and place on Gurdwara notice board, the names of final list candidates. |
Sunday, 7th July | Gurdwara elections to be held under the supervision of election supervisors to be followed by vote count by the Election Supervisors, with formal announcement to follow after the count had been ratified. |
Friday, 12th July | Successful candidates will meet and elect office bearers. |
Sunday, 14th July | New Trustees (Executive Committee) to be formally announced, with a list of their names and their respective portfolios to be placed on the Gurdwara notice board and on Gurdwara website. |
Monday, 15th July | Transition period, new Trustees to shadow outgoing Trustees |
Monday, 22nd July | Formal handover of responsibilities takes place, from the outgoing committee to the newly elected committee. |
